Have you ever fancied trying yoga? What about Stand up Paddles? Maybe you are looking for some adventures to entertain the children. If so, head to the beaches of Talamanca and Figueretas this spring where there is a great programme of free activities every weekend open to all.
Organised by the local council the initiative, called the Beach is Open all Year, means that you can get try out lots of different activities. It is a tremendous opportunity to try some new things and maybe find a new passion.
The range of events is impressive. Sports on offer include kayaking, yoga, kickboxing and Stand up Paddles (paddle surf). If team games are more your style then sign up for the beach football, rugby, handball or volleyball.
There is much more than sports too. Join a course on jewellery making, clay, painting or mosaics. There is a workshop on 13 May to learn about medieval Ibiza which coincides with the fantastic Medieval Festival which takes place in the old town the same weekend.
There is plenty of fun on offer for the kids too. They will have a great time marauding at the Pirates and Corsairs gymkhana. They can also get into the medieval vibe with a jousting tournament. They will be worn out after the team games like parachutes and catch the flag.
Running every weekend until 21 May, the programme really does includes something for everyone. The activities take place between 10.00 and 13.30 on Saturdays and Sundays. Even if you just want to lay on a sun lounger whilst the children get involved, Talamanca and Figueretas both have wide sandy beaches ideal for a snooze in the sun.
All that morning exertion means you will be ready for a glass of wine and a delicious spread of tapas or a huge pan of paella. There is an abundance of bars and restaurants in both locations so you can really make a day of it.
